Flower Child

I am so excited that it is finally getting warmer in NY. I desperately needed some
Spring in my step (after a cold and wet previous week) so I ended up reaching for
my Spring must have blazer sooner than expected.  Although I still had to pair it with
a sweater, it felt good to leave my winter coat behind, my toes were less lucky.

I automatically reached for this blazer as soon as it caught my eye. I tend to gravitate
towards colors  and girlier patterns and this happened to embody all of the things I love,
or maybe I just wanted something that screamed SPRING. What are some of things
 that you're craving this season?

My favorite pass time is hiding out in a café by the window with a  cup of green
tea and some yummy macaroons (pistachio and coconut are my favorite).
Instantly brightens up my day and makes me feel relaxed and happy. I love
popping into Financier, as it is just a quick spring from home.
What are some of the places you go to unwind?

That '70s Show

Happy Monday dolls!

It has been far too long since I've worn any type of bell bottom jeans and when
I stumbled on a pair that I used to love, I decided to recreate a modern take on
the ‘70s look. Sometimes it’s nice to go back in time. It brought all kinds of fun
memories from TV shows, one in particular.

So here is my nod to the 70s. What do you guys think?

On an unrelated note, does anyone have a direct line to Spring? I think it's time
she visit NY, just saying.
Been wanting to wear this blazer for a while now and finally was able to mix
it with another recent print purchase. I think it gives it a little more sass.

On that note, I wish you a fabulous week!

Downtown Chic

Happy Friday!

This has been one of my favorite looks because it was so easy and
effortless yet it looks put together. My favorite outfits are often those
that take the least amount of time.

For me, blazers are a staple. It’s one of those items I always reach for no matter
what season or occasion and I pack a few when traveling. It’s a simple way to
spruce up any outfit. It also comes in handy between those weird seasonal
transitions such as now.

The key is to keep it fun and youthful by mixing a bit of color, in this case I went with the
wine tights and a blossom blouse. The bags chain gives it a bit of playfulness and glamour.

What do you guys think?

Spring Wish List

(1) Blazer: Zara
(2) Jeans: Current/Elliott

(3) Shoes: Valentino
(4) Sunglasses: Stella McCartney

Good morning lovelies,

Here is my list of Spring cravings. In an attempt to disregard the NYC cold I decided to put a colorful, fun and springy list of all the things I'd like to magically own.

A perfect spring outfit that can easily be transitioned into summer and early fall. Paired with a simple white tank, it's fun, colorful, floral, yet chic and put together. A total show stopper in my book.

What are some of the things you are craving for spring?

Going Retro

Happy Monday!

NYC weather stroke once again by giving us the unexpected snow day on Saturday, in mid-March!
Doesn’t get any more unpredictable than that. I decided to enjoy the day nonetheless and go a little
retro with the hat and the gloves, adding a bit of glamour with my snood.  It may not have been the
ideal March weather, but I decided to have fun with dressing up in layers, colors and details.
In the end we had a great day, with a stroll in the Meatpacking
district and a great Thai lunch. So take that snow!

Flower Power

Happy Friday!

Anyone who follows me on instagram (anightinnyc) and/or twitter (@anightinnyc) knows by
now that I love flowers and share a new picture every week. So I decided to put together
a few of my favorites.
Hope this puts a smiley on your face.

These arrangements are from my building, you could say they inspired me to always
have fresh flowers in my own home.

There is nothing better than the smell of fresh flowers lingering throughout the apartment.
I tend to gravity towards brighter colors during spring /summer and softer whites during winter.

Deciding on the color of the tulips at Whole Foods, gush I love their flower selection.
It’ s almost impossible to walk away without buying some.

Neon Orange

Happy Tuesday everyone!

We have had such an amazing weather this weekend that a blazer
was sufficient enough to hit the streets for some brunch.

The sunny rays kept me warm and cozy.

jeans:  Zara
tee: A/X
sunglasses: c/o Ray Ban
lipstick: Nars/Schiap

Hope your week is off to a great start. I must say that I am strongly disliking and fighting this whole hour forward, time saving thing we got going. Not a fan for sure. It’s still super dark in the morning and I can’t seem to adjust just yet. Is anyone else feeling the same?

Leather & roses

I'm really not a leather jacket kind of girl as I usually gravitate towards softer pieces
(clearly I didn't get the whole princess thing out of my system yet) but I'm now slowly
changing my tune. When paired with softer pieces, like the rose necklace it creates that
perfect balance between edgy and girlie. Plus I'm really digging the whole distressed
worn-out look this particular one has.

Now onto these pants, a trend I instantly fell in low with, but took my time in
executing. I initially had the idea to throw them with a comfy oversized sweater
but then decided to go even more casual with a tee and pile on details. I refer to them
as my PJ's as they are incredibly soft and comfy and I can wear them all day long.

Paired with a heel and I'm ready to take on the city. And can we took about
this rose necklace? The minute I saw it, it took my breath away. I think J. Crew
somehow read my thoughts and the two month  pre-order waiting period was
 totally worth it.

Happy Friday and most importantly happy International Women’s Day to all the amazing, incredible women out there. Today is all about giving thanks and gratitude to you, a friend, a mother, a sister, a grandma, a dear friend.

Sailing away

I came across these pictures when cleaning up my camera and realized
I never actually posted them. So even though we are in March and
Nemo is long gone, I decided to post them anyway.
I got this shirt years ago and can't seem to part ways. It's one of those
pieces that can easily be reused any time of the season. I have worn
it with shorts in the summer, skirts in spring, and as you can see in
the winter with a faux fur vest.

Maybe it’s my sailor childhood fantasies that won’t let me
let go (thanks Captian Hook).

These were taken a day after Nemo and I was one of the few people
brave enough (bored and curious) to venture outside.
It was a fun day to dip into my childhood self and declare a snow day (in heels).

Shirt: Club Monaco
Pants + booties: Zara
Faux Fur vest: Club Monaco
Clutch: Kate Spade Kate Spade
Hat: H&M

Other than a  few times where I almost lost my footing and fell onto the snow (and got a lecture from my guy not to wear heels in snow, yes sir!) it was a really fun day.  Thanks for going down the memory lane with me, as I know we are all anxious to put the winter behind us till next time.

Back to Basics

I have been on such a color/pattern ramp as of late that
I forgot just how much a love jeans.

I go through these stages where I live in my jeans and tees and then all
of a sudden I forget about them for a while. Does that ever happen to you?
I guess I'm back to my jean days but it was a bit too cold for a tee.

I kept it close to home nonetheless, by adding a touch of color and some polka dots.

Adding on to my Kate Spade clutch collection, is this silly cuteness.
