Dressed up Shorts

\
Happy Monday!

There is something about pairing jean shorts with a pair of exquisite heels, that makes me
feel, dare I say, sexy? As I’m getting older, I find myself drawn more and more to opposing ideas, jeans with a dressy blouse, pants with a tee and a dress with a leather jacket, anything to stop a look from being too anything, whether its sporty, girlie or formal. I want it just right, in-between the two worlds. This is the perfect example, paired with flats, it would have been a casual look, upgrade to overly joyful, candy for the eyes (yes if you haven’t picked up on it yet, these are my latest purchase and I’m so obsessed, I want to put them up as part of furniture and just gaze at them lovely) shoes and you got yourself that in- between look.

Ahh it was love at first sight (I've been told, I tend to say that a lot though)

Simplicity in lace

Good morning lovelies! Happy Friday

A short, light lace dress is just what's needed on a hot NYC day, dapping in a little neon
color with the clutch for a more fun look. I snatched this dress a few years back on sale,
and tend to reach for it every summer the minute temperatures soar past 90 (last week).
It’s so light and breeze yet the detailing makes me feel very feminine and
vulnerable. It's the perfect go-to dress for a brunch with my guy.

Hamptons inspired

Good morning lovelies! I indulged in a three day weekend so this one is a day later than usual but hope you enjoy it nonetheless. This weekend we celebrated my guy's birthday with a little too many cocktails and sweets. Deciding to squeeze in as many acitivities as possible, we hit the ground and by Monday have gone shopping on fifth avenue (always a joyride), looked at the amazing Louis Vuitton window displays, had cocktails in west village, picnic in central park (it started pouring the minute we got there but that's just the fun of it all),  ran to FAO Schwarz, got way too much candy, monkeyed around and made our way to Serendipity for a mind blowing Cinnamon
Apple caramel Sunday. All the pictures are on Instagram (@anightinnyc).

I snagged these pants at Zara recently and can't get enough of them. Aside from being
majorly comfortable, they are light as air. My other recent purchase are these 3.1 Phillip Lim
blush beauties. I have been secretly wanting a pair of oxfords for years but just couldn’t
find the perfect pair. These had me swooning for days and I finally went back and made the purchase. I just really love the color and they turned out to be such a staple in my closet.

Garden Party

Good morning lovelies! We have been hit with a major, crazy
hot heat wave in NYC this week, so staying cool
and collected is turning into a full time job.

On days when it’s just too hot to even attempt to look put together, I throw on a cotton dress
that’s as light and comfortable as possible and call it a day. This particular one ended up perfectly matching with the gardens and felt in tune with the theme of greens. A perfect escape from the scolding sun. How are you dressing in this heat?

On a more personal note, my guy's birthday is this Sunday and I can't wait to kick off this weekend's festivities. Looking forward to good food, family time and lots of cake. Follow me on instagram (anightinnyc) for updates.

Harlyn Look #2

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had an amazing weekend!

Lately I find myself spending my weekends in parks, breathing semi fresh air, looking at the pretty boats and the clear sky around me. After busy work weeks, it’s important to unwind and recharge your battery. Although I love the hustle and bustle of midtown, there is nothing better than coming home to a slower and quieter pace of downtown. This weekend was no exception, and I spend Saturday morning strolling by gorgeous piers looking into the beautiful rose meadows picking the perfect spot for a picnic on the grass. Doing so in a gorgeously light as air Harlyn  dress made it that much better. I can’t get enough of the colors and patterns, the perfect fit and cut of the pieces amazes me every time.  I plan to live in this dress throughout the summer, so don’t be surprised to see this on the blog a few times. Another favorite last worn here .

How was your weekend? Where do you like to go to unwind and enjoy your summer, aside from the beach that is?

PS.  As I was writing this, I came to a realization that I am two posts shy from a 100th post mark and I can’t quite believe it. Has it really been that much? Coming close is also my one year anniversary of  anightinnyc and I couldn’t be more proud of my little baby. A huge thank you to all my amazing readers, new and old, you guys motivate me, inspire me and give me a breath of fresh air when I need it most.

A tulle moment

Good morning my lovelies!
Never one to blend in, I spend my Sunday twirling and swirling in the sun.
It felt beautiful, light and whimsical and I wish I never had to take it off.
A total SATC Carrie moment! Thanks to the amazing space46boutique.com
for gifting me with this tulle dream.

I wanted the look to be playful and fun and went for a chic Zara tee and
a messy ponytail. I let the skirt do the talking and matched the heels
accordingly. What do you guys think?

What girl doesn’t dream about layer upon layers of tulle to swirl in?

This was probably by far the most fun shoot I have done to date. A huge thanks to www.space46boutique.com and to my amazing readers for making these collaborations possible.
