1985 Feathers

I've been sulking after this skirt since December but couldn't find my size
and just when I gave up all hope, there it was waiting for me this past weekend.

I love mixing edgier pieces (like the cocktail disco ball ring) with more softer pieces
(like the pearl flower ring) to create the perfect balance.

So here we are at last, me and my feathers.
And this is what happens to your shoes when you
get too close to a concrete wall

Thank you so much for all your love and support. Nothing
makes my day more then reading your comments!

Scarf Print Swing Dress + GIVEAWAY

I started my day off on a happy (or delicious note) by going to brunch at Harry's Cafe.

Happy Monday dolls!
I am so excited to share a project/collaboration I did with Muse Apparel, an online women's boutique that in my opinion has one of the loveliest selections of dresses I have seen in a while.

A nice (educational) stroll through Lower Manhattan was next on the agenda.

The minute I saw their new collection I was blown away and this dress in particular caught my eye from the go. It was so different from anything I've seen and so fun and colorful that I envisioned wearing it all around NYC and I decided to do just that.

There are so many dresses that we need for different occasions, work, date-night, day-wear, it's really exhausting to keep track. It's nice to find something that evokes all occasions into one and can be so effortlessly transitioned no matter what you do or where you go.

These were too fun to pass on, architectural art at its best.

And finally made my way to Starbucks for a much deserved snack (their brownies are heavenly)
before heading home. A perfect Saturday in my book.

Dress: c/o Muse Apparel
Blazer: Club Monaco (loving this one)

Prabal Gurung

Happy Friday dolls!

PS: Yes, I was very cold but I couldn't possible wait till spring to show this, could I?

Hope  you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for reading!

Shirt dress + shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target
Tights + clutch + belt: Club Monaco
Lipstick: Mac/Saint Germain

As most of you, I have been torn about the Prabal Gurung for Target collection. The minute I saw the lookbook I fell in love with how floral and colorful it was but I was worried if the material and quality would live up to the hype.  But once I saw the dress  I knew I was not going to be able to resist it. I can’t speak for all the pieces but  this dress is a winner for its vibrant array of colors alone.  At the end of the day if an item makes you happy and giddy with excitement that’s really what it’s all about, isn't it?

Leopard + red

My wild, leopard side came out this weekend. Thanks to OASAP for gifting me this gorgeous blouse. I can tell that this will be on repeat come spring.
Wearing red is nothing new to me, but it's been a while since I've played with leopard and my faux fur and this three day weekend allowed just enough time off for me to work through my other side of the closet.
If you live in NY, it's no news that space is something that we hear about but don't really live to experience which means some of the items get shoved so far off that eventually you forget what you have. Does that ever happen to you? It's like you're shopping in your own closed. Love when that happens!
I wanted to be a bit playful and step out of my comfort zone and tying the shirt felt the appropriate amount of bad ass.
Blouse: c/o OASAP
Pants: Zara
Faux fur: Club Monaco
Booties: Zara
Lipstick: Nars/heat wave

My guy and I spent our Monday night watching Beyonces "Life is But a Dream" HBO Documentary and if before I was a huge fan, I have now convinced myself that she is my soul sister. How amazing is that girl? To me she is someone you just want to be friends with because she is so full of life, love and humbleness. How does that even happen? Love me some B + Jay.

Hope you guys had an amazing weekend, sorry for not posting earlier. I wish I could come up with a good excuse, but really without having the disciple of getting up for work I leisurely spent most of the day in bed.

Love,
O

Pumped up Kicks

 Sweater: J. Crew
Shirt: Banana Republic (old)
Jeans: Zara
Shoes: Nike
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban aviators
Lipstick: Nars/heat wave
Watch: Gucci

Happy Friday!
Who else is pumped about the three-day long weekend? I know I sure am. I've been so behind on movies lately (The Silver Lining Playbook and Argo have been on my list for far too long). So I’m planning some serious movie time this weekend. Anyone else has exciting plans? (you see what I just did there, yeah I consider watching movies all day long nothing short of exciting and cupcakes most likely will be involved). If you are new to this blog, I have a thing for cupcakes, don’t judge.

And if you are curious about where I go and what I do the other days of the week (I won’t call you a stalker I promise) go ahead and follow me along on twitter @anightinnyc and instagram anightinyc.

PS: I post a lot of pictures, consider yourselves warned.

Love,
O

Whisk me away

I couldn't resist and not do a V-day inspired post (turns out I’m such
a softy when it comes to love or red color in general).

I’ll be the first to admit that I have far too many red garments (being that it’s my favorite color as of lately) in my closet but I just couldn’t resist this dress. The minute I saw it, it screamed Valentine’s Day. When it came to picking the perfect jewelry to go with the look, I was a bit lost. I didn’t want anything to overpower the dress and wanted something delicate and timeless (the theme was romance after all). So when Anjolee contacting me asking if I would like to collaborate, of course I jumped for joy.

Anjolee is the only website where you can take any jewelry design and make it your own. If that
doesn’t make you giddy with excitement, the website also allows you to customize anything from shape, collection, size, you name it (it’s basically build a bear but for jewelry). Who doesn’t want a custom piece that reflects your style and personality? It's the kind of jewelry that you can wear every single day, for any occasion and that you will keep throughout your life.

So ladies what are you waiting for? Scoot on over and create your own ideal piece that reflects who you are. And if your guy is still in search for that perfect Valentine's Day gift, take him out of his misery with a hint or two ( diamond tennis bracelet and diamond necklace).

Dress: Donna Ricco
Blazer: BCBG MaxAzria
Tights: Club Monaco
Shoes: Max Studio
Bracelet: c/o Anjolee
gold love ring: gifted
Lipstick: Nars/heat wave

This Thursday, let's paint the town red and fall in love all over again.

What are your plans? A fancy dinner, a movie, a cooked at home meal, or a chick flick with ice-cream? No matter what it is and who you are spending it with (I once spent it with my dog and we had a blast, don’t laugh) just have fun!

Love,
O

Winking Georgie + Nemo

Normal people would probably stay home during the blizzard but I had to come out and see what all the fuss was about. It was actually really fun until about five minutes in when my hair was soaking wet and I got hit with ice on the face far too many times. But it was all in good fun and I retorted back home shortly after (all dinner plans cancelled of course) with my new toy friend - Winking Georgie.

Even Nemo couldn't keep me away, too bad my hair had to take one for the team... wink wink

It seems I was the only one on the streets which I didn’t mind one bit.

And... it winks! How fun is that?

Happy Monday!

If you are like me, than you are still in awe of yesterday’s Grammy performances. I have to say this year was a huge hit in my opinion (but maybe I say that every year). The collaborations were amazing and the fashion was fierce (hello J. Lo! and BeyoncĂ© was so unexpected).

What was your favorite moment?

Mini moments

It's safe to say that all of my mini moments include a cupcake confection of some sort and this one definitely tops the list. In time for Valentine’s day this cakes beats chocolates to the curb.

What guy wouldn't love these?

If you haven't been to Eataly, I highly recomment you rectify that immideatly.

Strolling in the High Line park is one of my favorite pass times for two reasons:
(1) It's practically under DVF so I get to drool at the new collection on my way up
(2) It's surrendered by my fav restaurants so a lovely brunch is a guarantee.

Fun fact: this bench costs $800 which I did not know when I initially set down. Good to know I can jump with a lightning speed.

These were taken in January on one of those super warm days, such a tease I tell you.

Sweater: ASOS
Jeans: Joe's
Clutch: Club Monaco
Shoes: J. Crew
Sunglasses: c/o Ray Ban
I don't go to Central Park nearly as much as I wish I did simply because I am not on upper side much. But when I do get a chance to swing by the other side, central park is a must stop. It’s the most relaxing place and there is always something new to see and discover.

Snapped this one after our date night at Fig & Olive.

Happy Friday!

First and foremost I wanted to thank you all for your get well wishes from my  previous post. I am finally coming around and starting to feel like myself again. Thank you for your support and patience this week, it really means the world to me to have such amazing readers/followers!
I am anxious to get back on my feet and do some shoots this weekend and this snow storm better not stand in my way.
Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Love,
O
