Black and White Stripes

Staying fashionable and warm is providing to be difficult but I am
up for the challenge. Choosing spring pieces and incorporating them into
the winter wardrobe is the only thing keeping me out of the winter rut at this
point. It makes me feel a bit more excited for the spring ahead. Somehow pulling
on sweaters this late in the game just depresses me, but I’ll see if I can turn that
around next week. Let’s just say I’m glad brunch was 10 steps away because
I was regretting my choice of wear 2 minutes in.

Be My Valentine

Instead of going the usual red/pink route, I decided to play with some blush tones.
The inspiration was definitely my new Chloe bag. Since the skirt is so girly,
I thought an art print dress (worn as shirt) and a leather like jacket would add
a bit of edge creating the best of both worlds. Surprisingly the end result
made me feel more romantic than a red dress ever did.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine’s and weekend.

Tuxedo Jacket

I'll keep this sweet and short as my mind swirls over my constant obsession over
Olympics, cracking my brain for what to get my guy for V-Day, all meanwhile
getting impatient with this cold.

Hope your week is off to a great start, stay warm!

Wild Child

Cold, rain, snow, dark, grey are just some of the words I’d use to describe
New York right about now. As we all await the first signs of spring, all
awhile reaching for rain boots and black, more black,
I’m trying to not get to caught up in the darkness of it all.

So here are a few positive things:
(1) Valentine’s Day – a cheesy excuse to dress up,  spend an exurbanite
amount of money on a dinner that is somewhere between
mediocre and plain unacceptable (although this time I hope
to break the pattern by going to the new Soho location for Laduree).

(2) Laduree has opened in Soho. Major yelp and a little dance. Refer to #1. Ok, so I have been dreaming of buying a ticket to Paris for many reason but in particular, to visit my all-time favorite place on earth, Laduree. New York it’s about time we open one that has a tea room and all of the delicious, mouthwatering pastries that I stuffed my face with in Paris and London.
(3) Winter Olympics – the perfect excuse to convince myself that I’m purely staying home to watch the games and not at all out of laziness/hibernation. On the downside, it does make me feel like I should go to the gym, run or climb something instead. But we are getting off course here.

Hibernation

After spending most of the winter indoors (in my defense, NYC hasn't been
this cold in forever), this weekend's high 40s (practically summer in my eyes),
got me out the door in no time. A little brunch and a stroll in West Village got
me back in the game and I'm starting to remember that Spring is just around
the corner. Happy February.

PS. Last night's Super Bowl, what did you guys think?
Aside from the teams, the overall experience wasn't my favorite.
a) I have never seen so many car commercials!
b) I was missing Beyonce
