Riad in Marrakech, Morocco Part II

 

Sharing with you a little slice of heaven that I was lucky to call home for

my stay in Marrakech, Morocco. If you're ever visiting, I highly recommend

staying in the riad in the medina which truly resembles the heart of Morocco

vs. a modern hotel. From the gardens, to the architecture and the

unbelievable décor, you’ll never want to leave.

Marrakech, Morocco Part I

I'm back in New York after a wonderful trip to Morocco. Here is a first glimpse

of the beautiful architecture and the mesmerizing tiles that are all around. It’s everything

 I thought it would be and more. The beauty of this place speaks for itself and I

was constantly inspired and awestruck by all the colors and intricate detailing.

It was a 106 degrees! something I’m not very much used to, so it was a huge adjustment,

especially since I was covering my legs (as a personal choice, and out of respect for the culture).

Initially I took some loose shirts to cover the shoulders but it soon became clear that I couldn’t

do both in such heat.

Wanderlust

After months, weeks and days, it feels surreal to think that I am finally off to my
first 2014 adventure, Morocco. It’s always been such an intriguing place for me and I
 can’t wait to explore all that it has to offer. When I think of Morocco, I imagine,
gorgeous carpets, sunrise camel rides, mint tea, colorful tile work and breathtaking
 archways all around. Hope to share some amazing photos with you soon.

In the meantime, I will be living off my Jasmin and Aladdin fantasies.

REPEAT

I know I should really switch things up a bit, but light, airy trousers is

pretty much my spring uniform. It’s the acceptable PJ’s, right? In my mind

I was aiming for the gorgeous pink blooms for the background, in the end

it turned into the only puddle one could find with a mountain of sand,

that’s NY for ya I guess.

When in doubt, where a Cheetah Print

Quick hello from a rainy New York. Yup, we are back at it again but hopefully it will

be sunshine by the time the weekend rolls in. if not, mother nature you really are something

 else. April has gone by incredibly fast (or is it just me?) and I’m really really looking forward

 to May. It will mark my first 2014 travel and the countdown is soon to be in single digits

 (I will reveal the destination in the next post, hint: a lot of scenes that were filmed for this

season of Game of Thrones took place there, bhahaha). And if you are not watching

Game of Thrones, you should drop everything, lock the doors and enjoy hours

upon hours of amazingness. You’ve been warned.

In Full Bloom

Getting lost in a maze of cherry blossoms, magnolias and anything else that is
finally in full bloom. Virtually overnight, NYC transformed itself and everywhere I
look there’s green, pink and white. It’s truly a sight to admire and I wish I can drag
this seasona bit longer.  Enjoy your weekend guys!  I want nothing more than
to mindlessly wander around getting lost in the beauty of it all.

Navy Stripes

 

Whether you celebrated Easter or Passover, I hope you had a fabulous,

 family-filled holiday weekend. Explored Nolita and all it's little gems,

including brunch in Cafe Gitane (their avocado toast is a must). This is

pretty much the ultimate in-transition uniform, light trousers, loafers,

a tee and a blazer. Truly can't go wrong.

Pink & White

(first blossoms)!

 

Feeling grateful for the wonderful weather in NYC this past weekend.

I spent most of it outside, soaking up the sunshine and I just couldn’t get enough.

Sunday was even warm enough for shorts! I hope your weekend was spent outdoors as well.

Since my Instagram feed has nothing but Coachella on it, I tried to bring in some

 NYC love to mine. Wearing white pants two posts in a row, but can you blame me?

I hope not, because whites and pinks are all I want to wear these days.

Distressed White Denim

Excited to head into April and finally brush off the winter coats. First signs of spring

are always a favorite of mine and I’m eager to see it all come to life yet again
(including me). Haven’t spotted any cherry blossoms yet, but my guy has been rather
 spoiling me with pink roses and for that I’m even more grateful. I hope you are all
enjoying warmer weather and are just as happy for winter to be finally over
as I certainly am. And with that, Happy April guys!

THE Leather Jacket

It feels surreal to think that just on Sunday the weather allowed for a

leather jacket, come Monday it was back to full on polar vortex.

Oh well, Happy March I suppose.

PS. After years of the perfect leather jacket search, I finally settled on this

one, forgoing the predictable black route. Red is just more fun, in my opinion.

Too bad this baby is going to have to sit it out for a while longer.
